Needs and Assets Assessment and Referral Services (NAARS): Settlement
One of TESOC’s primary objectives is to provide effective, high-quality and comprehensive settlement services, including group information and orientation sessions to eligible newcomers to Canada in an effort to educate, empower, and assist them with settling in Canada.
13+ Languages: Tamil, English, French, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Pashto, Russian, Sinhala, Turkish, and Urdu
Eligible Newcomers: Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees/Protected Persons and Live-In Caregivers
Mode of Delivery: In-Person and/or Virtual (i.e. Phone, Email, Zoom)
Location: 1160 Birchmount Road, Unit 1A
Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed Weekends and Statutory Holidays.

Settlement Services Offered:
- Group Information and Orientation Sessions
- Referrals to appropriate community and other resources
- Interpretation in 13+ languages
- Basic short-term/supportive counselling and referrals
- Assistance with the following applications and more:
- Permanent Resident Application
- Citizenship Application
- Social Assistance/Ontario Works Application i.e. ODSP
- Work Permit Application
- Passport Application
- Housing Application
- Employment Insurance Application
Other Services Offered:
- Translation of Official Documents from Tamil and Sinhala to English
- Commissioners for Taking Affidavits available (Basic Notary Services)
- Unpaid student placements and volunteer opportunities
